Dr. Tia Lou

Dr. Tia Lou is a 40 something empty nester who, as a single mom, left a stable career in government to pursue a PhD in Biomedical Science.  She is currently working in the Biotech industry where she strives to identify genetic markers associated with disease. Her creativity drives her work and her unique personal style. 

Tia’s greatest accomplishments are her two children, a college junior and sophomore, whom she refers to as Joe and Moe College.  She uses this space to express her thoughts on transitioning from a mom whose life revolved around her children to a new empty nester figuring out life on her own terms.
