Hype Man

I talk to my sister Krystin pretty much every day and every day we have pretty much the same conversation.  The topic may differ from day-to-day, but the underlying theme is always the same what we are doing to work toward our goals.  Last week we decided to kick it up a notch and set up a weekly meeting to discuss our goals for the week.  The following week, we talk about what we accomplished and set new goals.  She’s my accountability partner and I am hers (😊).

On a regular basis I see posts on my timeline about the importance of keeping the right people in your circle.  We all know how important this is.  It’s 1,000 times harder to be positive when you’re surrounded by negative people.  The same holds true for productivity.  You want your inner circle to be just as driven as you are and to be supportive.  In addition, you should surround yourself with people that hold you accountable.

We all have goals…like losing weight (points finger at self ☜(⌒▽⌒)☞), but a goal without a plan is just a wish.  When I’m serious about losing weight, I start off strong…low carbs, exercising every day, etc.  Then I miss a day…  With no accountability, that day turns into a week, and that week turns into a month.  By then I’m lucky if I haven’t gained 10 lbs as opposed to losing it.  This is why accountability is so important.

Another great thing about having an accountability partner is celebrating victories, even the small ones.  How awesome is it to have someone to give you a “woop, woop” when you get through the first few chapters of the book you’re reading?!  When I was in grad school (I know ya’ll are tired of hearing that, but it was ¼ of my life, lol) I used to say I needed a hype man…think Flava Flav!  Someone to get me pumped up before an exam or when my energy was low.  Am I the only one that thinks this would be a good idea???  Krystin is super high energy so she’s about as close as you can get to having one.  She bugs me (and I say this in the most loving way 😄) everyday to make sure I’m working toward my goals.

We are on the brink of the new year so to help out with those New Year New You goals, I talked about setting goals in achievable increments.  I also encourage you to have an accountability partner before the new year to help those goals stick!

2018 is gonna be LIT 😅😅😅
