Be Still

January seemed like the longest month ever and then February just flew by!  I was determined to get a post up before the end of the month.  This month has been a time of introspection and self-discovery.  Being a new empty nester and fresh out of a relationship left me with a lot of time on my hands.  Although I remained focused on my goals, I hadn't given myself time to just BE.  I was literally on the go from sun up to sun down.  Balance is still a work in progress for me. I started going to the gym as a part of my weekly goals and then not being there all the time was difficult.

In the last few weeks I've begun to be still and, in spite of my inherent desire to be on the go, it has been eye opening.  It's given me time to reflect, time to focus on my space, and most importantly time to focus on me...mentally, physically, and spiritually.  Time I haven't had in 20 years since becoming a mother.  While it's important to be productive, it's equally important to curl up on the couch with a good book because relaxing is a form of self-care.

Balance.

There is something so liberating about being comfortable with yourself by yourself!  It also makes you more selective about what you spend your time on and with whom you spend it with.  Budget your time like you budget your money.  It's truly our most important asset.  This year has already been life-changing and I'm excited about this journey of self-discovery!
